The enactment in May of 2011 of the Migration Act in Mexico generated a series of expectations in the various sectors of Mexican society that have been working in the defense of the human rights of migrants. This paper reviews the achieved progress in the protection of migrant rights, and also reflects upon those issues that were not regulated by the aforementioned Act in order to be able to guarantee these rights.
